Hey Team,
Hoping you are well and are having a cracking start to 2023!
We have had some great crew training sessions of late! Love a good weekend trail run or MTB ride! A reminder to all of you, if you have a goal of getting into some running or biking, let me know so we can get you out and about with some of the other clients.
We don’t care about pace (how fast you go), it’s just a good time getting some fresh air in the Australian bush! Don’t hesitate to come!
Or at least let me know and I can give you the confidence to come join when you are ready! Check out some of the awesome views below of just the last couple of weeks!

Some advice for weight loss goals and food tracking for 2023.
As many of you know food tracking/logging can be a great tool for goals like body composition changes, weight loss and any general nutritional adjustments.
However sometimes it can be literally a waste of your time if done incorrectly. The key to logging is understanding your current state of play. Like….
- What are you eating?
- When are you eating?
- How much are you eating?
- How often are you eating?
- Are you eating high nutrient foods? Or “food like products”???
- Do you eat really healthy Monday to Thursday and blow out Friday to Sunday?
An important thing to understand is that food tracking/logging DOES NOT improve your health. All it does is allow you (or your coach) to see what is happening in real time. It allows you to be less emotional with your nutrition because you can have clear data (when logging appropriately) on what you are currently doing and allows you or your coach to make the necessary adjustments for you to actually get closer to your goals.
Typically someone who is new to food logging is actually better and more accurate than someone whom does it chronically. Why or how…? Most people whom do it for excessive periods of time have bad habits like…
- Memory logging (doing it hours or even days later)
- Eye-balling more things than not
- Intermittent… some days you do it, some days you don’t.
Reminder to all, the goal is not to track your food for the rest of your life. The goal is to learn about your food, your body and track intently to get you to your goal weight as quick as possible.
If you are logging inappropriately (like reasons above) you will typically find it a battle to see results from food tracking. Just another reason why I am an advocate for minimally processed food that works for YOUR body so that the “on and off” switches to eating are working correctly.
So if you are food logging, but not quite logging correctly…. do it properly for 3 weeks straight and usually the light will shine on what you need to change to get the ball moving again (if not after the 3 weeks of logging correctly your coach will soon know).
Wildside Adventure Race (just last weekend)
What an event, what a race and what a special experience to share with two special clients at the Wildside Adventure Race by @fullyradadventures.

Over the weekend that was, myself and two other clients completed a 24hr adventure race…. and an adventure we definitely had!!! The course was a mix of Hiking, rogaining, MTB’ing and even kayaking down rapids ![]()
With the mix of these sports we travelled 140km’s just under a 20hr period!
Talk about some fun had on the weekend moving the body is all sorts of ways and directions. Not only was it an awesome event physically, adding the mental component of needing to map our way around Barrington Tops was such a great addition to an event.
Both Sue and Emm are very experienced in Adventure Racing, so I was so lucky to pop my first adventure race cherry with them this weekend! Big thank you to Sue for organising it all! You both have ticked another amazing event off your list and put in some more good hours testing that body and mind of yours! Huge kudos to you both and as always look forward to your next level of progression this year ![]()
There were so many highlights of the day but realistically hard to put in words lol maybe you will just have to join us on our next one???? You could come experience 20km’s of kayaking down a wild river with rapids and end half way up a tree (hahaha yep that was me lol).
Thanks so much to Sue and Emm for an amazing event, I can’t wait to look at the photo’s from the camera man himself (my phone was locked away due to race rules lol so no content from me unfortunately). So watch this space for more content.
I wonder if this motivates someone else to set a BHAG?
(Big Hair Audacious Goal)
I truly believe the body and mind is meant to be challenged, this not only provides physical health but mental health. So get out there push your limits!
