Hey Everyone,
Hoping you are all well and can you believe we are 3 months down already in 2023!
The below EOWE goes over:
- Client Success story (the journey continues)
- Easter Long Weekend “Food for thought”
Client Success: Luci Foote
I would like to congratulate new client Luci for her amazing effort so far since kicking off at the start of the year 2023. Luci’s goal upon starting was to lose weight but lose weight in a manner that wasn’t so exhausting and tireless. Luci is an extremely busy Mum and realistically does what many Mum’s do….. put themselves last.
Luci has come about through a recommendation of a pre-existing client wanting similar results. Weight loss. But not just losing weight, realistically like many of us, Luci is looking for permanent weight loss. Losing weight and keeping it off.
It gives me great pleasure that Luci is well on her way to losing the weight she wants. We are down 6-7kg’s since starting in January. Just over 7% of her total body weight is now removed. The weight is still very much moving and Luci is sticking to her targets to continue her weight loss phase.
Usually the numbers above and the idea that Luci is still losing weight is enough for people to get excited, but…. In my experience and my opinion the real excitement comes from how Luci has changed her lifestyle.
Because….. the Luci I see now…. is nothing like the Luci I first met.
I absolutely love hearing Luci explain to me over the phone how much more energy she has because of the changes she has made. So much more energy that she is back to her childhood sport of swimming laps! What a great activity and especially for a weight loss goal!
Most people get excited about the fact someone has lost weight, but don’t put enough attention on the effort and actions that Luci has put in place to be in her position. This weight loss DOES NOT JUST HAPPEN. As many of you know I am very purposeful about my clients results and I need to ensure that success is the key. Success does not occur from just having a goal of weight loss. It comes from making the right actions at the right time:
- Daily focus on self management (e.g Food quality/quantity)
- Daily focus on self reflection (“Am I making the right decisions?”)
- Continually planning ahead and updating her state of play.
- Prioritising sleep
- Prioritising high and low days (ensuring that majority of high energy days is coming from nutritious foods AKA not junk food).
The above are a small list that covers where the real work has been done. If most people got the above list 80% right… majority wouldn’t have anywhere near the health issues we do.
So proud of you Luci for getting the basics down right. Focusing on the basics 80% of the time is really what gets the scale and body to change.
I absolutely love how you consume the knowledge but also try your best to put it into your own lifestyle. This takes a lot of effort and it’s so appreciated.
Bring on another 6-7kg’s :)!
Easter Long Weekend “food for thought”

“Challenges” or a better word…. Opportunity ahead is the….East Long Weekend.
Are you within a weight loss phase?
If you are in a process at the moment where you are pushing for more weight loss, I think you need to look at the Easter Long Weekend ahead as an opportunity instead of a challenge.
If I was to pool a group of clients that lose weight and actually keep it off, and a pool of clients that were not successful in actually keeping it off… the difference in my opinion is a mindset issue.
It is making mental the jump from:
“This is a weight loss program” to…. “this is now my lifestyle”.
It sounds simple I know, but people that think they can just lose their weight and go back to their old lifestyle are just shitting on their opportunity to maintain their results.
If you are overweight, and have weight you want to lose, there are things in your lifestyle that you are doing that are causing this to be the case. And it’s is NOT just because you have a lack of willpower or motivation (these excuses are just a cop out).
If you are losing weight, think about all the healthy fresh food you eat, and all the great easy movement you do to give your mind and body more energy and thus push the body fat levels down. This is how we should be living…. not for a “phase” but realistically forever. This can be really hard for people to grasp and really accept. Counting calories and eating junk food as part of your “calorie controlled intake” is a redundant way of pursuing sustained weight loss or better yet… lifetime health.
People that think with a mindset of “It’s just a program” will typically lose on weekends like this upcoming Easter Long Weekend. The social scene will get the better of them and will come “back” to their “program” once they are home.
People that think with a mindset of “this is my lifestyle”, typically will on weekends like this make decisions for the long term of their health and fitness goals. The food quality will 90% remain the same and their activity levels will probably increase due to the extra available time (on holidays). This is because they have made activity apart of their daily/weekly routine. It would be more weird to not move.
I truly believe if you want to lose weight and keep it off, making this mindset jump from a “program” mindset to a “this is my life” mindset is the difference in sustaining success. The choices and actions by these two types of individuals usually look extremely different by the end of the Easter Long Weekend.
It’s an opportunity for you to…… live the lifestyle.

Hamish (my son) and I went out on a trek together a couple of weeks back. this video is a pretty raw look into what it’s like trekking and camping with a hammock with a 4 year old.
Hamish overcomes a lot in the back end of this video…. and I predict what happens lol
Just like so many clients I have hiked with before… check it out if you haven’t already.
