Weight Loss Results Come from a Place of Suffering

When starting a new routine or pursuit of that goal it’s so exciting, right!?

There are so many feelings I can conjure up, but you know what? That feeling of really making the decision to pursue a goal is something so special.

Especially weight loss!

Once someone has actually decided to make a change, there truly is no stopping them.

It’s a special moment in someone’s life where they go… “Right, I am so sick of (fill in the blank)… It’s time I change!!!”

Unfortunately, this place is usually found after weeks, months, or even years of pain and suffering.

What do I mean?

I have helped thousands of people lose weight since I was 18, when I first stepped foot into the gym as a personal trainer.

One thing all clients with a goal to lose weight have in common is… they are in a world of pain and daily discomfort. When you’re overweight (if you are or have been before, you’ll know), even doing the most basic tasks can make you feel downright yuck and heavy.

Going up the stairs = heavy breathing

Bending over to pick up the kids’ toys… you feel the rolls on your stomach pile up

Chasing your kids at the park and coming up with some excuse in your head as to why you can’t play with them (when all you really want to do is run around as well)

Winter hits and you feel weirdly comfortable that baggy clothes and rugging up are okay… but, like we all know, summer bathing suits are here before we know it

Where am I going with all this?

While the suffering and pain you experience while being overweight is your body’s way of telling you to do something about it, you’re probably just scared because deep down, you know something needs to change.

And change is HARD!

This is what I wanted to get to by writing all of this:

What do you start with, and what change do you make first?

To be fair, I don’t think anything needs to change immediately…

“Huh?” you’re saying…

I think the first thing you need to do is actually make the decision that you’re sick of where you are, and that you’re truly willing to do something about it.

You are so sick of being overweight, and it’s time to do something about it!
This is where you need to start!
Take a full-body photo of yourself in your underwear. Front and back.

You are at the point where you need to be and that’s to make the changes you know need to happen. Change is inevitably uncomfortable, but so is being the fat you

You may have a big journey ahead of you, but I know and you know…

You can do it.

Go all in.

Setting the Goal is easy…. Doing is the HARD Part!

I wanted to share something that might really hit home if you’re over 30, juggling kids, work (maybe more than one job), and looking to lose 10kg or more. No BS talk, just straight talk (the real me lol). A strategy that actually works for people with real responsibilities.  No need to become a gym junkie No magical “morning…

What hard hats and calluses taught me about coaching…

Have I changed….? Okay, it’s been a minute since I’ve put some thoughts down like this….. so bear with me. I’m going to cut a long story into a short snippet to bring you up to speed. I’m Nathan Morris. Being a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor is all I’ve ever really known. Since…
