Twelve weeks back.
Nearly a personal best.
Chloe came to Nathan wanting to rebuild safely after health challenges took her out of running. Twelve weeks later she was running close to the times she posted before the break. In her own words.
Getting back to running, safely.
My main goal was to get back into running after experiencing some health challenges. I wanted to rebuild my fitness safely, improve my running performance, and develop a better understanding of strength training and nutrition to support my running.
Before coaching, I had never worked with a running coach and knew very little about nutrition. I always ran too fast and struggled to slow down enough to build a proper aerobic base. I also wasn’t confident that the strength training I was doing was actually helping my running.
Someone who understood running and real life.
I wanted a coach who understood both running and the realities of balancing training with a busy life. I was looking for someone who could relate to my situation, keep me accountable, and guide me without making me feel pressured or judged. Nathan’s experience and approach really stood out.
The why, not just the programme.
Nathan is incredibly understanding, flexible, and generous with his time. He explains things in a way that makes sense regardless of your level of knowledge. Rather than just giving me a programme, he helped me understand the “why” behind the training and nutrition.
He also prepares you for challenges before they happen and works through them with you, which helped me stay consistent and confident.
Close to my old times, in twelve weeks.
I lost approximately 4kg in a relatively short period of time, and nearly achieved a personal best after only 12 weeks of training, following a significant break from running.
I developed a much better aerobic base and learned how to train at the right intensities. I improved my understanding of nutrition and how it supports performance, and learned how to strength train effectively, with exercises that are actually relevant to running. My energy levels went up, and I can now train while still maintaining the lifestyle I enjoy. My confidence improved in both training and racing.
I’m most proud of how quickly I was able to return to running and perform at a level close to my previous best after such a long break. The progress I’ve made in a relatively short period has given me a lot of confidence for what’s ahead.
It carried into everything else.
Coaching has improved more than just my running. It has taught me better time management, consistency, and determination. The skills I’ve developed through training have carried over into other areas of my life and helped me become more organised and disciplined overall.
Absolutely.
I would recommend Nathan to anyone looking for a coach who genuinely cares about their athletes. He takes the time to explain things at your level, shares an incredible amount of knowledge, and is always generous with his support. Most importantly, he genuinely gets it.
